Xiaomi Civi 2 Will Feature a 50MP IMX766 Sensor and a Dual 32MP Front Camera

Yesterday, Xiaomi made it official that the new Xiaomi Civi 2 will be launched on September 27. The official announcement also revealed that Civi 2 would feature a far better imaging technology (compared with the previous model). This afternoon, the officials announced the camera specifications.

As posted on Xiaomi’s official account (on Weibo), the new Xiaomi Civi 2 will feature the 50MP Sony IMX766 main lens (with an aperture of f/1.8); the total number of cameras is three. The officials also mentioned that the light input is now increased by 101.8%, the photo speed is increased by 144%, and the night photo speed is increased by 246%, hinting toward a significant change in Civi 2’s camera.

In the morning, the officials also revealed the front camera specifications, which state that the Civi 2 will feature a front 32MP+32MP Dual camera in a pill-shaped cutout inside the display. It is worth mentioning that the first lens is a standard wide-angle lens while the second one is an ultra-wide lens.

As per previous news, the new Civi 2 will feature an AMOLED Display with an under-screen fingerprint scanner; the display will also support a higher Full-HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.

In terms of chipset, the new Civi 2 will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 7 Gen1 chipset, which is the best you can get in the premium mid-range category. The chipset is based on a 4nm manufacturing process and consists of eight cores, including four Cortex-A710 P-Cores and four Cortex-A510 E-Cores.

It is expected that the officials will reveal more highlights of Xiaomi Civi 2 in the upcoming days.
